New Brighton, a "Beacon of Technology Integration" within the Commonwealth!

Each month NBASD will showcase a "SPOTLIGHT TEACHER" on the district website to recognize the tremendous efforts of our staff to utlize 21st Century tools to integrate technology into the classroom.

The "SPOTLIGHT TEACHER" for April 2010 was Mrs. Deborah Ramsey, a 1st grade teacher at the Elementary School. Mrs. Ramsey is the resident "tech expert" at the ES and is always looking for new and exciting ways to engage students in the classroom. Mrs. Ramsey has truly made learning interactive as her students are constantly using the interactive whiteboard. Congratulations to Mrs. Ramsey for being this month's "Spotlight Teacher" and look for one NBASD staff member to be recognized each month for helping to make New Brighton a "Beacon of Technology Integration" within the Commonwealth.

Mr. Salvucci (March 2010)

The "SPOTLIGHT TEACHER" for March 2010 was Mr. Dominic Salvucci, a Social Studies teacher at the High School. Mr. Salvucci also serves the district as our "Technology Integration Specilist" working with staff to assist them with making the use of technology ubiquitous in their classrooms. He is also piloting a program that uses iPod touches in his classroom in place on the traditional PC. Congratulations to Mr. Salvucci for being this month's "Spotlight Teacher" and look for one NBASD staff member to be recognized each month for helping to make New Brighton a "Beacon of Technology Integration" within the Commonwealth.

Mr. Martella (Feb 2010)

The "SPOTLIGHT TEACHER" for February 2010 was Mr. Anthony Martella, a 7th Grade Science teacher at the Middle School. Mr. Martella uses his teacher website along with his Interactive White Board in an engaging fashion that differentiates intruction and allows students to learn in a dynamic and fun way. Congratulations to Mr. Martella for being our first "Spotlight Teacher" and look for one NBASD staff member to be recognized each month for helping to make New Brighton a "Beacon of Technology Integration" within the Commonwealth.
